Carpenters

We are always on the hunt for the best carpenters that will ensure and keep our projects to the highest standard.

What we look for in our carpenters are high quality, hard work, reliability and a commitment to delivering the highest standards in the industry.

We offer continuous training to our sub-contractors making sure they are at the forefront of all health and safety to ensure they are working in a safe environment.

To join the team as a qualified carpenter we require the following documentation:

  • CSCS card

  • City & Guilds/ NVQ Level 2 Site Carpentry and Joinery

  • UTR (Unique Tax Reference)

Apprentices

At Hennah:Jones we are very proud of developing the best talents.

Our experience of working with the UK's biggest house builders means the builds you will be part of set you apart from the competition.

Hennah:Jones will make sure you have the support around you to obtain the qualifications while being on the job.

We work closely with local colleges to ensure our apprentices obtain the relevant NVQ qualifications, and provide all our apprentices a basic carpentry tool kit so you’ve got the right tools to hand to get the job done. At the end of the apprenticeship you finish with an NVQ Level 2-3 Site Carpentry and Joinery qualification.

Site Supervisors

Hennah:Jones are looking for Site Supervisors with at least five years of progressively responsible carpentry experience, which includes one year of supervisory experience; OR, Completion of a three-year approved technical training program in carpentry AND two years of progressively responsible carpentry experience, which includes one year of supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.

Main duties are:

  • Hires, coaches, reviews, supervises, and terminates operatives, or makes effective suggestions and recommendations that are given particular weight regarding the employment status of operatives.

  • Plans and develops work schedules, equipment usage schedules and procedures for equipment maintenance.

  • Organises and plans labour activities.

  • Maintains time, payroll and submits reports.

  • Trains or informs employees of new work methods or procedures, changes in safety regulations, work policies, construction codes, and the like.

  • Ensures budgeting guidelines are met.

  • Reviews plans and specifications for future plots, and inspects new plots to ensure quality of work, NHBC regs and specifications compliance.
